The house in NZ was built using concrete tilt up panels that are 8 inch thick and then covered with 3 inch thick rock. The wood in the house is a native hardwood called Macrocarpa. We cut down 110 trees that were between 4 foot and 7 foot in diameter. I bought a portable saw mill and we milled the 500 tons of logs into 200 tons of timber.
The beams in the house are 6X12 and 5X10.
The house just sold for $4 million.
